Restaurant, bar or café – depending on the type of establishment, there are some aspects to consider when it comes to furnishings. While gastronomy equipment with a lot of comfort and stylish design is recommended for some businesses, practical equipment with a simple look is sufficient for others. You should always keep the overall concept, the functionality and the target group in mind.

1. Kitchen equipment

The equipment in the kitchen should allow your staff to work quickly and easily in their daily routine. Since this part of the gastronomy equipment is subject to extra wear and tear, robustness and durability should be a priority. For this reason, it is important to use only equipment that is suitable for gastronomy in the kitchen. Special work tables, for example, convince with resistant surfaces that withstand even heavy use.

Similarly, high quality of the kitchen utensils is important. Household appliances should not be used in gastronomic kitchens, as they are not designed for continuous operation. Instead, rely on professional kitchen appliances that will function reliably even under the heaviest load. In this respect, you can also benefit from the competence and expertise of specialist dealers.

2. Furniture

Apart from the kitchen, the guest rooms are equally important spaces. To ensure the restaurant visit is an all-round enjoyable experience for your guests, an appealing ambience with a feel-good factor is an important aspect alongside culinary enjoyment. Make sure your visitors do not sit on uncomfortable chairs or at tables that are too small, and develop an overall concept with an inviting atmosphere by choosing functional and comfortable restaurant furniture.

Due to the heavy daily use, it is important that the furniture for the guest rooms is suitable for professional gastronomy equipment. Gastronomic furniture should have durable and hard-wearing properties and be optimally adapted for daily use by guests. Also, the fire safety requirements for the catering industry must be observed. For outdoor areas of restaurants, special outdoor restaurant furniture is suitable, which is weather-resistant and especially sturdy.

3. Gastronomic tableware, cutlery and glasses

Depending on your food and beverage offering, you will of course also need gastronomic tableware, cutlery and glasses. When planning the inventory, you should always plan for sufficiently high quantities, since this type of gastronomic equipment is used the most and can be broken. You should also have enough tableware, cutlery and glasses, to avoid bottlenecks on days when you are very busy. For special tableware or cutlery that is used less frequently, it is well sufficient to purchase smaller quantities.

When purchasing, also look for a guarantee to buy replacements. This way you can be sure that broken plates or cups can be easily repurchased and replaced months or years later. A coherent overall appearance of your equipment is thus ensured at all times. Make also sure that tableware, cutlery and glasses are dishwasher safe, sturdy, easy to handle and scratch resistant.

4. Table linen

Appealing table linen underlines the character of your restaurant and creates a pleasant ambience. While simple bar or industrial-style restaurants do not necessarily need gastronomic table linen, tablecloths or centerpieces, table protectors, runners or sets are a great way to add the finishing touch to distinguished dining areas. You can choose from different sizes, styles, materials and designs.

Which table linen is the right one for your rooms depends entirely on your gastronomic concept. If the tables do not need to be completely covered, high-quality table runners or place mats are suitable instead of tablecloths. Depending on whether you want the table linen to be just practical or a decorative element, you should match the colors and design to your interior. Whichever solution you choose – keep in mind that table linen materials must be durable and quick and easy to clean.

5. Work clothes

The overall image of your restaurant also includes the appropriate professional clothing. In this way, your guests can easily recognize your staff, and your employees receive work equipment that is optimally adapted to the demands.
